Whittle Things Santa Gallery Hand carved Santa's by Richard Keller
The Santa Carvings on these pages are now part of private collections.  None are for sale.  The purpose of these pages is strickly as an archive of pictures.

The earliest carvings pictured here are from 2002, when I bought my first digital camera.  Before that time the pictures weren't very good and maybe the carvings weren't either.

These two carvings illustrate the value of practice.  Actually I put this picture in because I think it's kind of neat.  They are done from the same basic pattern.  The one on the right was carved in 2003, the other one is undated, but obviously one of my earlier attempts.

For those beginning carvers looking in, take heart with practice you can improve.  I'm not saying the one on the right is good, but I think you will agree that it's better than my first attempt.

I've used this pattern several times.  I think the one on the right is my favorite of all those attempts.  Other versions can be found in the archives.

Also be sure to check the "Carvings for Sale" page for available carvings.
Click on one of the links below to see the Santa Carvings done in the year listed.  The Cypress Knees and Cottonwood Bark carvings each have their own pages.  Enjoy your visit and let me know what you think of the "new" pages of "old" carvings.
